Our people must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others; then they will not be unproductive.  -Titus 3:14

Volunteer Involvement

1.  GIVE FINANCIALLY
On Tuesday, Sept. 2, there were 70 families requesting assistance at one of our local cooperative ministries.  The average cost of food and gas to help an evacuee family return home is $200, and most co-ops won't be able to assist more than 6-7 families without additional financial contributions.  Gift cards are needed the most (i.e. Chevron, Texaco, BP, Kroger, or Visa gift cards).  See a comprehensive co-op list below.

2.  STAY & SERVE   Organize a small group of 6-8 persons that would be willing and available to serve at a local Red Cross shelter serving meals, water, etc.  For more information, contact Kathy Haworth, Red Cross, at 404-575-3182 or khaworth@arcatl.org.

3.  GO & REBUILD    Help clean up and rebuild disaster areas by traveling with the Home Repairs Ministries, Inc.  For more information or to sign up, contact Harvey Anderson at 404-964-6681 or handerson@HRMins.org.

4.  GO  & REBUILD   Connect with Home Repairs Ministries, Inc. who will most likely be taking volunteer teams into destroyed areas to help rebuild.  The first of many trips to the gulf coast is scheduled for Sept. 12-14.  Contact:  Harvey Anderson at 404-964-6681 or www.homerepairsministries.org.
