Mobilization Guide Available The Church Mobilization Guides are complete! To request your free guide, click here. This guide provides church leaders with the necessary information to launch a justice ministry at your church and how to connect with Street GRACE to combat the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) in Metro Atlanta. The Metro Atlanta region ranks among the world's worst cities for CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children), also known as child sex slavery. Also, let Street GRACE know if you're interested in hosting a lunch or evening event to raise awareness among churches in your area or denomination. For more information, send an email to info@streetgrace.org. FREE Adoption Attorney, Support and Resources There's a new 501c3 ministry called Promise 686 that focuses on coming alongside of churches to start lay-led adoption and foster care ministries. One of resources available through Promise 686 is of free attorney services to adoptive families. Christina Bennett is a Christian attorney who is being made available to help adoptive families finalize their adoptions, for free! Please spread the word to any person or organization that you think may benefit from knowing about this resource. For more information, contact Christina at cbennett@luederlaw.com or 770-685-7000. Bethany Christian Services "Safe Families" Initiative Often times, families in crisis just need 30-45 days to get help, put together a plan, and get back on their feet. Until now, the children of those families often end up in foster care. The "Safe Families" initiative is a way of providing temporary (30-45 days) housing for children, while the parent(s) work through their issues. Bethany is challenging Unite! churches to each raise up 1-5 families in their congregations who would be willing to serve as a "Safe Family" for children of families in crisis. For more information, contact Amy Harris, Safe Families Case Coach for Bethany, at 770-274-3449 or aharris@bethany.org. "Half Hour Heroes" in Gwinnett Public Schools Half Hour Heroes is a brand new call to action that Unite! churches developed to invite churches, local businesses, and communities to volunteer as mentors and tutors in our local public schools. The vision of Unite! churches is for every child in need of a mentor or tutor in public schools throughout metro Atlanta to have the mentor or tutor that they need. Being a mentor is really just being a friend. All it takes is 30 minutes a week to be a hero to a kid. By just showing up and expressing an interest in a child, volunteers can make a huge impact in a child's life (i.e. self esteem, grades, attitude, etc.).
